-NBC’s ER Expected to Live On: It looks like veteran medical drama ER will be back on NBC in 2008-09 for its 15th season. Expected to join the cast in recurring roles is former Sopranos star Aida Turturro as a car accident victim, and David Lyons as a new doctor. |

I used to LOVE, LOVE ER. But I gave up on it in the middle of last season. Once Stamos joined the cast, along with the overly annoying Scott Grimes becoming a series regular, I just couldn't hang on anymore. I'm pretty surprised they renewed it for a 15th season. But from what I heard, they had to negotiate a lower licensing fee in order to renew it. |

I'm fine with this..ER deserves to have a final season that is promoted as the final season of the show...I hope to get some more former cast members returning for guest stints.. |

Good lord! I'm beginning to think that when the world ends, all that will be left will be the cockroaches and ER. |

They had no choice. The strike ruined all the plans for what was going to be the final season. Gloria Reuben was going to be the first of the big returns to help say goodbye. They will likely shorten the season next year. Tierney will likely be back. They will go ahead with Noah Wyle's return. They may be able to get others too. I am happy they will return to get a proper sendoff. They've earned it. Hell, they still average decent ratings considering. The show is not crap. The past 3 years has been overall great. Yes, Stamos has been a downer but the show has had some compelling stories and is still the best medical drama out there besides House. I see GA as nothing but a ER copycat. So much of what they do is like ER's early years to me. I just hope Maura Tierney gets a nod for something. Her work this year when Abby fell off the wagon was the best acting from anyone on any primetime show this year IMO. So subtle yet effective. She is one of the most underrated actresses going right now. |

Fuck, this show just never dies. No one even knows it's on anymore. |

^Alot of people know it's on. I mean, it is still averaging around 9 million viewers this year. It's just not a major part of pop culture anymore like DH or GA is right now. Having said that, as a fan this has to be it. I was prepared for it this year but with the strike I this has to happen to give it the sendoff it deserves. I will be sad to see it go because it's been on an overall creative high the past 3 seasons but better to go out on a high note then a low one. |

I agree about Law and Order but The Simpson's has kind of experienced a renaissance since the movie last year. I was down on it big time but seeing the movie and the episodes that followed...they are on a upswing. They still should end soon though. |

Count me as one of the 9 million. I have watched since day one and will till the end. It needs an ending, not what NBC has done to Las Vegas. |

I might be in minority but I've been enjoying this season. I'm glad they renewed it, even if only for one more season. |

ER used to be groundbreaking television. Everyone has since copied its production values, casting merits and granduer so it has fallen into same-old-same-old. But it has always done well with guest stars and cast transitions. I don't watch it anymore but wish it a good final season. |

Anyone else heard the rumor that George Clooney and Julianna Marquiles would make a guest appearance for the 15th season? I find it really hard to believe. |

That would be really nice. I would like to see them back for the final episode... I haven't seen latest two seasons because our TV network airs ER at some crazy times... it sucks really... but I will try to catch it during summer reruns... :D |

I know both have been approached, which is why the show mentioned them in an episode in January when Gloria Reuben returned for one episode. I think Marguiles will do it no problem. Clooney is a question mark. I heard they want them for multiple episodes. Wyle is already coming back and has agreed to about 5 episodes (it was supposed to be one last year and 4 this year but now it may be one this year and 4 next year or 5 next year). They have even talked about bringing Anthony Edwards back, saying they have a way to do it. There is some talk of it being in the form of a "lost" episode. I also think Laura Innes will be back as Kerry because she still directs. I heard Shane West may be returning as Ray for a few episodes this year and maybe a few next year too. The good news is Goran Visjnic will be back as Luka for a few more episodes this year and since it seems Maura is going to agree to return next year as Abby for the last year then I think we can expect Goran back for a few episodes too. Mekhi Phiefer is a question mark. Like Maura, he was going to leave this year too but I think he would return for one more season as Pratt. I also think Gloria Reuben, whose brief return this year was supposed to be the beginning of the many returns as the series was ending, will be back next year too. I think we will see quite a few returns, which is why I'm glad they are giving them another year. Alot of this was going to happen this year but the strike hindered it. |
